Sounds like there’s a bit of guesswork going on here—hard to say if there’s really a 'favorites list' or if the 'transition team' is as ominous as it sounds. Could just be the rumor mill at work
It's called the "Transition Team" which basically means that if you are asked to join the 'transition team' you will be fired once this goes through. Kroger has thousands on that "team"
But if you are on the 'favorites' list they will never lay you off. you know who is on this list.
