Maybe it’s an opportunity with these recent losses to get rid of her hen pecking, mother-in-law micromanaging management, model, and replace it with a responsible adult management where there’s one manager to 20 employees where the employees get to do their jobs without the meddling 1st line manager trying to do it.

SF is conducting a huge experiment to determine which jobs can be outsourced. It is called WFH. Allstate ran the same play about 5-7 years ago. They are now moving all customer facing claim positions to Pune India.

Outsourcing is coming. Go ahead and move, then they will tell you to come in office and that’s how they get out of a layoff or severance. When they outsource you will already be gone! Sh---y company to work for anyway.
Thieves that mismanage to make sure their bonus us high then rip off customers with rate hikes to make up for their mistakes. Any other company would have fired CEO and CFO for these errors and losses. These A-holes get huge bonuses.

" The rest of us want to avoid a commute, enjoy extra free time off work for it, and not deal with the BS of in office work."

Do you really think they care what you or the "rest of us" want? You're confusing what you would like to happen, with what motivates the current SF executives.

The tide is turning on wfh. Over 80% of fortune 100 companies are now requiring at a minimum a hybrid model. With recent losses TC will feel pressure to bring people back to the hubs.

They still sieve-like and watch via AWS and security “spy” tools and the whole systems as laptop configuration and spy Analysts are worthless. ET is a bread of folks and ran by directors who are clueless that think they are great show as gurus. Lies and you are their little pets

No conspiracy. Wackos and third parties run Farm

They run decent employees off regardless. A shame A game of deceit $$

Oh please. Even allstate had to start hiring americans and they currently have a live licensed claim handling center in Pune India. You cant outsource everything. Customers want knowledgeable handlers. Attorneys would have a field day if they outsourced BI.

State Farm pay a lot of money for facilities no one wants to be in anymore, and since the pandemic its proven these offices are not needed.

There is no reason to lock our company into hub locations, where staffing is proving to be a problem.

The benefit to in office work? Managers get to feel powerful infront of live people. Sometimes a conversations may break out if time allows. Some people enjoy the hustle and bustle.

So we have a lot of cost reductions employee happiness with working from home, and a bunch of intangible theoretical good feeling situations and a high cost with our hubs.

Keep bloomington. That will make the executives feel important. The rest of us want to avoid a commute, enjoy extra free time off work for it, and not deal with the BS of in office work.

I guess they are only interested in reducing costs if it has a negative impact on the customer facing workers.

"As it should be in all departments"........people wanting SF to let them work from home full-time are kidding themselves. If the company feels they don't need you in the office, even part time, it's not a good sign. It means the company has already started down the path of out-sourcing your department.

The bean counters know that the vast majority of employees are not as productive working from home. If SF wants a department (such as legal) to remain State Farm employees because the company wants full control, then they will require that they be in the office a good portion of the time.

The more your department is allowed to work from home the more likely it is that they are considering out-sourcing some, or all, of your department's work.

I'd feel a lot better about my job security if I was told I needed to be in the office, than if I was told they didn't care if I ever came in.

Problem is any place with a strong job market has a sky high housing market tysons corner, charlotte, raleigh, dunwoody, frisco, so its to late to move. SF should of done this a long time ago

There is nothing that could make me want to work for that part of the company after the betrayal of trust by the ET executives.

I think if I worked in ET I'd be looking to move closer to my next career option in preparation of the next wave of outsourcing.
