Why does a company spin this?
This is totally misleading
Development is complete when the process has the requisite CD targets, etest parameters and module process control to achieve the 680 Iso yields.
Having a Rev. 0 spec and calling the development complete is totally misleading.
7nm has not met the process maturity targets and its yields are so low it's not ready for Tech transfer to the HVM fabs in Arizona and elsewhere.
CRB and Senior Managers used to say don't hand me a polished tu-d. This is a very glossy pos.
Intel is 5 years behind and losing ground in terms of substantive progress. It's financially shaky and the switch from a 4 year depreciation schedule to 8 years will result in a paper profit of $900M/qtr. The cash flow will remain unchanged and will create a skewed comparison with 2022 results and skewed comparison with its peers. The next headline will be - Intels on track for $4B in cost reductions.
