Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Evaluation consultant going?

Any one who handles bodily knows the misery of having evaluations picked apart by ECs. Will this position be outsourced, or eliminated?
I have worked for 3 other auto insurers and never encountered anyone or anything like an EC.
Does anyone know what is going on with this position?

Loyalty to a corporation is a waste of time. Leaving Allstate after over 20 years is the best decision I ever made. The grass is greener and less micromanagement, I wish you guys luck, it's going down

They’re a severity play. They’ll never get rid of them.

Pretty sure I saw a number of EC positions posted on Talent Connection a few weeks ago. I doubt the role is going anywhere.

To the poster who mentioned unreturned phone calls, YES. But please understand some reps have unrealistic workloads. This is a systemic issue. Claims has no idea of how to hire anymore either which exacerbates the problem. Since going remote they’re also having a very difficult time monitoring what reps do all day. It’s a multi faceted issue with no easy solution. Maybe they should RCPS unreturned phone calls at the Senior Delivery Manager level. Make those people actually do something and fix this issue!!

After working for another carrier who actually allows adjusters to use their reasoning and judgment to value claims vs a dated system and ECs, it is apparent how broken the EC system is. They’re in place to curb severity but all they do is low ball the claim, force it into suit, leading to increased legal expenses, only to have the file settle for what the adjuster asked for three years ago. In the end, all you’ve done is increased severity. It’s not clear why AS believes attorneys will take underwhelming, low ball offers. They aren’t biting and the process is broken. They should move on from this model. It would be an enormous savings for the company.

My vote would be to restructure claims so that they actually return phone calls. Claims is a complete disaster and an embarrassment to the agency force who constantly has to defend them.

To the person asking if I for real worked for 3 other insurers, I ask you - Do you think everyone is a Lifer? Yes, I have moved around. I got bigger raises moving to other companies than expecting a yearly salary increase. And I took time off to have a baby. I am not loyal to any company over my own best interests. I am unsure why that surprises you.

The oversight and qa roles are useless. I would look for a major reduction in those positions.

A completely useless position. Put all the EC’s on desks with a heavy pending like all the other adjusters who have to jump through hoops for them.
