Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Is it just me, or does it seem that layoffs are losing steam?

I'm talking specifically about the tech sector, I have no idea what's happening elsewhere.

Layoffs overall are slowing cause it’s between financial periods. We’re probably looking at a mild recession starting in Q2/Q3 time frame. Things will start picking up towards the end of the year.

I don't know a single soul that was laid off this past layoff. In my group, none of us have heard of anyone that was let go...and this is in ISG and I don't live under a rock. I'm actually in the office every day...we just didn't see any activity. Where area(s) were all the layoffs?

it was a correction from the over hiring from last 1.5 years.

and some companies just used it as an excuse to cut some fats.
