I recieved an informed delivery notice from UPS that I have a next day air package coming from US Bank. Feels ominous. Do they typically mail the notifications?

Mostly it is laptop from US bank.

To the poster who laughed at being paranoid, don't you think something is very wrong when employees suspect the worst at all times ? The entire workforce is somewhat paranoid and for good reason.
Useless middle Managers look forward to RIF meeting. It juices them up because they are rarely found accomplishing anything. There is no way that they would ever miss the opportunity to RIF someone.
They certainly do mail people stuff when they are laid off. Having said that, I do agree that people are being paranoid. I have a bad feeling this will be the new normal for now on.

LOL - talk about being paranoid. If they going to lay you off, you would have simply been disconnected from the network or got an invite to a conference call, no need to mail you anything.
If you receive anything in the mail, it's probably a gift, certificate, or a laptop like others said. What's so funny is your paranoia when it's most likely you may be getting something that show they appreciate you
Where did you get the ups notice?
Are you located in a out of the way location? I've seen diff rounds of layoffs at diff banks and never heard of it done that way. My manager at BofA took a trip to Oregon , rented a car to drive 2 hours to do a layoff in person.

When Iayoffs were announced at my last employer, we were notified the day before that a package was scheduled for delivery. Turned out to be documents related to our severance package.
Yeah layoffs would not be overnighted to you. Likely a laptop, etc.
Or it could be something else like an employee appreciation gift or something. They're not going to spend money to mail something telling you you're fired.
Sounds like a laptop is being mailed to you. Haven’t heard of the company giving layoff notices via the mail.
