Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

You expect too much from Allstate

Allstate's goal is to provide mediocre and cost-effective services (for the company), rather than seeking excellence in the field. These are just facts. This is the way things are - few companies function any differently. This is not new and anybody who expects more is delusional.

ALL hasn’t attempted to provide good customer service in years. It’s just not part of the model at all.

Come come now. You mean to tell me Allstate is as good as it gets? Brahahahaha. There are many companies that honor, respect and love their employees. I will give you though, in the insurance industry, there’s only about 50% that are like that. Allstate is in the bottom 50% no matter what the surveys say. It is not one of the best American companies to work for. They have so much to make up for, for what they did to the workers in 2020. There’s a revolt going on and the loyal Allstate employees have found their voice. They will probably work toward unionizing not so much for themselves, but for the future Allstate American workers left. There really isn’t much to loose now except for their jobs which apparently can be replaced just like they themselves.

I disagree. My issue with Allstate is that they are never honest during layoffs/restructuring and my specific department had to wait 6 months for our fate. If allstate was honest I'd be fine even if they laid me off. I ended up getting transferred to a vendor

Please take all the youthful vigor and energy that you have when writing these posts into the job you’re being paid handsomely to do. Just think - you would have your desk cleaned up in no time if you put enough elbow grease into it. Some people have to sleep at their jobs but you don’t. You don’t know how bad it is out there. Thank you in advance for your hard work!
