Who's the competition in that space? NXP and TI?

Intel already a day late and dollar short in automotives. Too much competition already in that space and it's not a recession resilient sector

Automotive, high volume.
Interesting thesis.

Or opining on a topic, just because you can?

Economic downturn/ Missed opportunity two years behind the need for a new chip source.
Auto Manufacturers are adjusting production making allowances for glut of on-hand inventory to maximize profits -with plenty chip supplies on hand .

No. Burning Intel chips as fuel yields horrible mileage.

By making Mobileye a public company, Intel effectively exited automotive market other than being a shareholder like you and me.

Automotive require much higher quality standards as well as extended operating temperature.

Those in QR and integration can tell you how Intel fares in that, LOL.

I think Intel will lose money running that product. It’s way too low margin for our costs. So, no.

Results will be mixed. Margins are simply too low. Fractions of pennies per component for competitive bids (higher volume though). The company simply isn’t efficient enough to excel in that environment. It will help keep the lights on and the doors open, but it’s not a large profit center.
