If you are miserable at DXC I encourage you to embrace change and do what you need to do to take charge of your life and career.
I got WFR'd from DXC two years ago I am so happy that it happened. I had not gotten a raise or bonus for 5 years despite getting high performance reviews for 3 of those 5 years.
I last visited The Layoff about 1.5 years ago. I got curious and logged in tonight to see what's new at DXC. Well, it seems nothing is new! I see the same topics being discussed. Cr---y leadership, cr---y pay, no raises, no bonuses, and understandably, terrible morale.
Here is what happened after that WFR call with my DXC manager two years ago:
Three hours after the call: I realized I was quite happy to have been WFR'd. I would be leaving a a company I did not like and finally acknowledged how miserable I'd been for the past couple years at DXC. I emailed a manager at my customer's company; I'd enjoyed working with him for many years. Great guy, great team. Three days later, he told me he had a job for me! My final two weeks with DXC were just kicking off, but I already had a new job! I left DXC with full severance because I had about 18 years of service credit via my jobs with HP and HPE. I also got paid medical insurance for a few months and of course, my final paycheck. I took a fully paid break for a month before I started the new job.
I started at my new (and current) company with a base salary that is over $50k higher than my DXC salary. My new boss knew what I could do and valued my experience, and the salary scales here are much higher grade than DXC. I got a $10k sign on bonus and 5 weeks vacation. I got much better benefits. We also have an excellent Performance Recognition program that is tied to individual performance and company performance/profit; I got a pretty decent bonus at the end of the year one.
Year two is done. I got a nice raise and performance totaling over $20k.
Note: I am doing the same type of job that I did at DXC.
In summary; in the last two years my take home pay is more than $140k over what I would have made at DXC.
DXC Leadership - I am so grateful that you WFR'd me. I am at a much better company making significantly more money and I feel valued and respected.
Good luck to you all. Please do what you need to do to take care of yourselves.
