Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Dummy managers

Person doesn't know the difference between a resistance and capacitance works as an engineering manager. Makes my eyes bleed. No wonder why INTC is going to the cleaners.

My manager only showed up biweekly on Wednesday and said Hi to prove he's still alive. Hi,how's going! How's everything! What are you working on these days...?

To me, he's not the only one. I kept myself busy and I know at the same time, I should not tell or sharing him too much of technical stuff. I learned the lession before . He stole my work and presented to upper managers.

my mgr was a college professor befor joining INTC, so he's been in academia all his life, without any actual "real world" work experience. So of course he's an insufferable know-it-all, and acts as if he knows how to do everyone's job on the team. While he may have known more than his students when he was teaching, he has zero humility and still thinks he knows more than his ICs. It's amazing how dense Intel mgrs can be!

"That settles it. I want to be a Taiwanese CEO when I grow up. "

The guy is quite famous. Made a tonne of money in Silicon Valley. It just shows implementing a focused vision by a sharp CEO is easier than what appears. A large company creates an elephant of a management pile for the CEO to wrestle with, leaving the troops leaderless.

It's time to split up.

I know of a company whose Taiwanese CEO gave manager positions to his various mistresses. They played with cell phones, filed nails on technical meetings. They were CEO's extra eyes for keeping you on schedule.

Many mover on to have good careers in tech industry after the merger.
