Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Future of the agent/office

Can anyone explain what the future holds for an LSP? So many functions are going overseas, chat, online, self serve. Agents commissions and earning slashed. What does 2023 look like?

Over 700 agents are either for sale or TPP last 90 days.

Direct sales is what the whole transformative growth tech department is focused on. The scales will tip more and more towards direct sales as it expands beyond just IL and TN Auto

This is my opinion. The baby boomers are really the last generation that doesn't go online and uses agents. Sometime over the next 5 - 10 years I think agents overall will phase out. Not just allstate but overall

If you quit your office on good terms you can apply for a good remote lsp job. I tried while still employed as lead lsp and they would require permission from your current agency owner to allow you to leave and become remote. i thought about quitting and then going remote as lsp. The job on indeed requires one year experience with allstate. The recruiter was very nice and professional. i really wanted to go but my agency owner will never give me permission to leave for a remote lsp job.

STOP the nonsense as no elimination of EA's coming. Consolidation to fewer, stronger hands for sure, but still a major contributor to distribution at 40% of 4th quarter auto applications. Direct plus Independent a growing share of new business, but likely 80% or more of renewal book sits with EA's. Should be present when/where/how consumers shop, and many still prefer a storefront or local relationship.

Strong rumors of elimination of the exclusive agency all together by 2025. Continued movement towards direct model to increase the potential of sale/merger with another carrier by end of 2025 or into 2026. Agencies in today's day and age very messy being involved with potential suitors for selling or merging of the brand.

You should ask leadership and see if they will confirm the rumors of : no more brick and mortar agencies, more hiring of licensed producers off shore for less money, and buy on line self service being the company’s first choice for customers. The mad men 1960-1970’s agency world is no more. You will have to reinvent yourself as they will close you down asap. If you speak Spanish, you may be able to stay a little longer but don’t count on it. There is no growth in organic agency business. That is not the business plan or model for Allstate as evidenced by the plans they are executing.
