Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

EMEA Townhall

Everything is OK. There is no issue with pay. No retention issue and pay rises have been given out.

I feel as though I work in a different company sometimes to these town halls.

Chris PantsOnFire is an accountant.

All he can talk about is basis points. Always. He knows nothing else.

He's not an inspiring leader, he's an accountant.

I'm not able to begin to guess what sort of non-GAAP gymnastics it took to create those figures, but its pretty obvious from the feeling on the ground that they are going to be cooked up somehow.

As for the rest, what a crock.

So we are going to get another EMEA townhall in a matter of weeks... did nobody else pick up on this?

This and the rush to get through appraisals I suspect means something big offing...

Buyout, layoff or country exits....

This wasn't a town hall, but rather a meeting about financials. Weird. You'd expect to hear more about internal teams, technological developments, what is the competitor doing, etc. Nope, I was given information I've little to no utility for, as a specialist, for my job or clients for that matter.
The most ironic thing about the whole situation is while they talk about 'changing the culture', is that managers and executives set the culture of the business, not employees. It's been like this for millennia. That's why people say "People don't quit companies, they quit bosses."

Glad it wasn't just me that couldn't believe what they were hearing.
Two things leapt out at me.
Chris PantsOnFire said they'd solved the attrition problem which is an obvious lie and very confusing as previously Chris and every HR muppet had said there was no attrition problem.

And then PantsOnFire kept talking about all the pay rises and bonuses they've paid out which is odd because as we all know DXC cancelled pay rises for FY22 and I don't know anyone who has ever had a bonus at DXC. The legacy companies awarded bonuses but never DXC.

I just don't understand why he'd suddenly start lying so blatantly and on the one topic that is at the top of everyone's list of issues. On one hand he was saying we should all work really hard to close out Q4 but everything else was just one insult to staff after another, and a great way to ruin Q4.

The less said about the end of year appraisal the better.

The whole town hall was highly offensive and showed what a joke any so called leader talking about DXC culture really is.

I noticed when asked about pay rises, the answer was about bonuses.
So if you are lucky enough to get 9ne of these once in a decade prizes - just don't expect it to repeat next year or to contribute to an increase 8n pension.
Of course, that could have been a slip of the tongue, but that tends not to be the case with Fork-tongue
