Anyone know the reason it stopped so suddenly?
Mandatory OT just started the beginning of this week 2/13.
Our supervisor gave no reason why it was stopped.

Huh? Ain't true.
@[@9otd+1lfMLzFh,
I'm sure you're right but this isn't breaking news. Maybe the official word comes this week but Olathe has been on the transition list for some time.
What is sad, and quite unprofessional, is if that decision has been made, just let the folks know instead of forcing them to work with great uncertainty.
I know that an announcement can't be made until official but this is not the first transition .
This plant is closing. It will not be a part of Aerospace anymore. You heard it here first.
Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games
We got everything you want, honey, we know the names
We are the people that can find whatever you may need
If you got the money, honey, we got your disease
In the jungle, welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your shun-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n, knees, knees
Mwah, ah, I wanna watch you bleed
Welcome to the jungle, we take it day by day
If you want it you're going to bleed, but it's the price you pay
And you're a very se-y girl, it's very hard to please
You can taste the bright lights, but you won't get there for free
In the jungle, welcome to the jungle
Feel my, my, my, my serpentine
Oh, ah, I wanna hear you scream
Welcome to the jungle, it gets worse here everyday
You learn to live like an animal in the jungle where we play
If you got a hunger for what you see, you'll take it eventually
You can have anything you want, but you better not take it from
In the jungle, welcome to the jungle
Watch it bring you to your shun-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n, knees, knees
Mwah, I wanna watch you bleed
And when you're high, you never
Ever want to come down
So down, so down, so down, yeah
Such a disappointment. I need that OT.
Today's All Hands meeting abruptly canceled 90 minutes before start time.
What???
No breaking news for Aero Olathe?
Sigh, nothing to read tonight..
OT mandate caused an uproar. And now no OT is bad? Chill out and keep on working .
There goes any decent raises this year.
Need to get energized from Panasonic Battery soon!
Honeywell executives have regular meetings with other large employers near critical fa cilities. I doubt cedar creek is on that list though.
Since the transition to Olathe there have been very few out of 5 block reviews among R&O techs with the exception of the usual br0wn n0sers. I remember a supervisor telling us in a tier meeting in 2020 that we all were getting 5s no matter what we put on our HPD.
I don't know what the starting wage for tech 2 on the R&O side is now, but last I heard it was in the $27 range. I believe that the cost of living in Reno is only a couple of hundred dollars per month more than the KC area. With real inflation being at record highs, even 20% would be a big help.
@uce+1lfMLzFh Try $41 hr. Panasonic will be paying the same scale for labor that Moneywell will. Do a search for the other Panasonic battery plant in the USA (Hint: it's near Reno, Nevada) See what their paying there? I bet its close to what Tech III's make at Cedar Creek. All Panasonic has to offer is better Benefits and MAYBE a better work culture, for now. I'm curious what was your Nine Block assessment for 2022? Probably a 5.
I personally think even for the same amount of pay, employees would leave for Panasonic battery
If a Tech making $28/hr. could make $35+ at Panasonic doing testing or robotics repair, I'm sure most would take it, even as many have moved to FM&T for the same reason. This move won't even require the stringent background checks either. As mentioned by others, the much better benefits and facilities could be worth at least another $2/hr on top of that.
I'm just wondering how many repair techs Panasonic will be hiring? Workers yes. Assembly, testing etc.
But repair techs at tech III, tech IV?
I don't know if everyone should be thinking of Panasonic as being the Golden Goose. It will certainly be interesting when the actual postings come out. One thing is a certainty - the work environment would be much nicer.
Yeah, Olathe had a record breaking Q4 and they have NEVER made the numbers without some form of mandatory OT. If Q4 is to be the new goalpost, then there is an iceberg dead ahead. This is especially true now since they can't find experienced people stupid enough to work there and senior techs, etc. continue to leave.
I am not aware that the transition will be announced at this meeting, but this is all leading up to that end. Some say TP was brought on as a hired g-n for the transition and others say that even he is not aware so that SK can use him for plausible deniability till the dirty deed is done.
Just remember what they did with raises and RIFs back in Q1/Q2 of 2020 and that they refuse to answer questions about how they plan to retain the workforce that remains.
I wonder now what raises will be in March?
😂😂😂
Olathe did good.. company wide they suck. So they’re trying to suck money from every location they can for losses in other areas. They aren’t closing.. I was listening 👂 to the intel.. they just don’t want to pay overtime cuz the greedy big wigs and investors are pi---d and they want more money. Especially losing projects, not coming up with new customers, supply chain issues, etc. Honeywell sucks a** and they need to catch up on their technology in house. Ridiculous!
Revenue bad last quarter?
I thought Aero Olathe had a banner quarter and beat their revenue goals ?
Bonus money not work and safety takes priority at Honeywell.
Greed, Greed, and more Greed, yet raises are a small percentage of inflation.
They’re not closing. They just don’t wanna pay the overtime period. Crunching numbers ahead of the end of first quarter since 4th quarter 2022 sucked. That’s all. Matter of fact they’re hiring, or transferring around internal applicants to fill position’s. Tuesday meeting is just an all hands on deck to get everyone to work hard, cuz their revenue sucked last quarter and they need to strategize and make up for it. Greedy corporate people.
I figured that the new Panasonic factory being built in nearby De Soto would be the deciding factor. Hope there is enough transition time, severance, and unemployment to tide us over till they start hiring in 2024.
Maybe they will be passing out Red folders?
I wonder if it’s moving to Phoenix or being sold off?
@irr+1lfMLzFh,
I assume that would be the Tuesday meeting.
No transition happens within 90 days.
@3xmu+1l5D5Vr8 on the last Olathe thread must have been right!
I guess that’s why they ran out of popcorn.
I guess the place has finally been sold off and they are giving employees the legal 90 day notice?
I have no specific knowledge about Olathe but I do know that this scenario played out at 2 sites that made the transition list.
That is strange , we just had a all hands meeting several months ago and too much of a coincidence with abrupt cancellation of mandatory overtime.
Right before raises are due to be announced. Could be a wash, rinse, repeat of 2020.
Sounds like someone found a hungry Employment Law Firm or this is an ominous sign for the All Hands meetings that were abruptly announced today for next Tuesday.
This weekend might be a good time to work on your pucker factor skills...
