Michele noted the hiring freeze at yesterday’s LTL for an undetermined amount of time, is this the precursor to layoffs?

I was in a meeting last week where it was mentioned the GTO hiring "pause" is going to continue into the summer with few exceptions made. Not sure if the rest of the company is in the same boat.
Any update on when the hiring freeze ends? I’ve heard March and May.
Is that the official date published by HR? Are exceptions possible?
@5prh+1lexT00F Q2 is when it's currently slated to lift. Who knows if they'll change their minds come March 31.

Oh wait.. Disclaimer... It's only my opinion;
But...but... it's not a freeze. It's a pause, a mere stoppage. Perhaps a lull or respite or just some breathing space. But not a freeze.
Yes it is. There is still more planning going on. Who is going to do what, etc those who are going to be laid off have been identified. Particularly in USB NYC. The department? Dunno.
If you have been given a PIP consider yourself on the list.
When the PIP period ends you will be laid off. It’s their strategy. That’s for starters. If you weren’t a favorite to begin with you are on the list.
