While a sale is unlikely, no doubt the firm has taken actions over past several years to become a prettier candidate. The single biggest incentive to sell sits with Wilson, who would benefit from whatever premium the stock would command given his significant ownership interest. Change in Control could be his last play for a major exit payday.

Not true. If there is a story, you should post a link. 100% made up.

Honest question, is anything on this site ever based on actual factual information.

I haven't heard anything specific but this would not surprise me at all. What has been going on the last few years and what is coming all points to a company whose intention is not to be the entity that it currently is after the next 2-3 years. With non-renewing and sunsetting a lot of its commercial risk exposure and almost complete elimination of the exclusive agency channel via buyouts or retention/business terminations by 2025 I can full see this on the agenda. Also Vendor contracts running up through 2024 before potential renewal fits this 2025 being stated. Again I have nothing of substance to substantiate what OP is saying but this would not at all surprise me. All facets seem to fit when you look at it in full.
