How many people impacted? What’s the current employee count?

@2fsk+1le3lOqH, if they're in R&D and can't move to HVM, they're on the chopping block
What about Dalian employees?
@1fpp+1le3lOqH, CTF ain’t any particularly better sh-t anyway, if you know anything about retention.
@1hob+1le3lOqH, it’s 100% R&D in 6 quarters but hard to know what the trajectory will look like.
so this floating gate insanity is finally over
What ever the number not enough.
Intel is still a bloated low producing over paid lot of engineers who’s output per person is a joke
50% reduction in NDTM R&D?? Holy cow..
Can't LTD simply absorb this talent, like they did with the XPoint folks? These are some of the top engineers in the industry.
If anyone thinks the layoffs will only be 5-10% they are sadly mistaken - it's just not a material number. Intel is so inflated after years of overhiring they not only need to get back to "normal" they need to go further to get more inline with competitor revenue per employee. Just like the Fed is promising a soft landing which is an absolute lie and BS, Intel is obfuscating the fact that the company needs to rightsize down by about 30K to 40K people to be competitive.
I just got nuked in NDTM R&D. Most likely 50% reduction in the coming weeks since SK controls the budget but can't technically layoff (but can probably layoff through said budget). It's unclear about the next few weeks and we're already seeing dangling job transfers without any actual promise for those who will stay around before COB 2025. As of this week we are now actively encouraged to find new jobs while also somehow Hynix is expecting to execute one final product before putting us out behind the barn.
I heard previous round was 7K, maybe going to 20/30k isn't that unreasonable a total
If 5-10% paycuts are supposed to save jobs... And 5-10% of Intel is like 5-10k. Maybe they really wanted a 20% cut?
Forty Six & 2.

This isn’t a continuation of the last round. It’s a preview of the next. ELT staff is SC openly talking in elevators about another cut of 20-30K.
Thanks for your sacrifice.
$3 billion? More like $9.5 billion
Run while you still can.
Doesn’t NDTM funding by SK Hynix and jobs locked till 2025?
Well they just nuked NDTM R&D. The $3 billion ship is sinking quickly.
