Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

OMG the Hasker town hall

The complete and total disconnect here is astonishing. Kudos to all of the anonymous commenters for the brutal honesty here.

It is such a shame to see how out of touch the senior management has become. Yes, that video should have come with a graphic warning before being shown, that being said I still think Reuters has the best photographs. Also who’s idea was it to have a “learning day” on 4/28, that is the last working day in April. Sorry senior management not all the work has been automated like you have been told or believe, and should we talk about the kick out orders….shhh they don’t want to hear.

Steve thinks employees are d-mb. We don't pay based on inflation but there is 11 billion nest egg. Maybe we can use that to pay employees fair wages. MAV promotes stack ranking and forcing 1 and 2 ratings. never ending layoffs do not help mental health. The product guy looked uncomfortable. None of the good questions got answered. The CFO congratulated some guy for having a hundred calls. Does he know many people do that every day? Is KR missing because the change program failed? Stock market performance is everything to them. Watch this space for the growth program!

It is clear the UK, Canada and US are going to continue to be made redundant. Also what a disconnect among the executives and all the good comments that they let through. I would love to see all the comments that were actually submitted. The arrogance came through loud and clear. Crocodile Tears said she will be here until she is a senior so more to come from HR.

All I got from this meeting was the ELT don't really care about employees, but look at our stock price! Also, don't forget we'll do whatever we can to make that keep going up because all the buybacks we're going to do are going to make our ELT rich. Also, expect the regular garbage pay as in the past and don't forget we'll cut you to make an extra 1% YoY even though we're doing fine.

I didn’t like getting scolded for going to the office only one day a week instead of two, especially since some offices are closing, and a lot of people were recently dismissed. That felt punitive and doesn’t make sense.

So don’t do more. Stop agreeing to do more with less. Only do what you can—stop busting your rear for a company that could care less about its employees. It’s not rocket surgery.

Stock is at an all time high, that is all they care about.

@zdw+1ldDBXQz same here. I've been talking with recruiters and the rate I thought would be sufficient for a lead position is what they told me most seniors are making.

Something tells me raises are going to be pretty terrible this year.

It was about 35 minutes in Hasker realized Pecarelli and his 56 inch waist have to go

I agree about the video. It certainly triggered PTSD for folks. I know several who were crying and emotionally distraught from it.

I also felt it was a form of gaslighting. “See things could be worse, we are not fighting for our lives and running from middles, bullets, and bo--s”. But a toxic workplace can almost be just as bad.

They certainly stopped questions going through. I had submitted one and it did not go live.

The disconnect is vast. What a shameful disgrace.

They tried to non-answer the questions and only proved that they just don’t care at all.

Hope you all are satisfied with doing more for less so the shareholders keep getting more and more.

The video at the end showcasing reporters in Ukraine without a trigger warning was really something. The whole meeting they were very upbeat about a special video at the end of the meeting. No mention of content or anything. Literally triggered PTSD episodes of employees. For a company that claims to care about mental health this was a huge oversight and straight up feels gaslighty

I think this time they forgot to enable the setting where they can screen the questions before they appear publicly. Funny to see that out of all of the questions asked only about 10% of them are the types of questions someone would ask leadership when the environment is healthy. The other 90% seems to be people pretty annoyed at the current work environment.

Blah, blah, blah, bunch of political BS answers, talking in circles. They don’t care about employees. They also don’t pay based on market. That’s laughable. This entire ELT is a joke.
