Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

"Raising the Bar"

I'm gonna guess meaningful raises isn't part of the bar raising MK is blathering about on LTL.

There’s a department that the bar has been so low for many years. Really low.

Management and HR have been told over and over again about it but have done nothing.

People have fled because of managements lack of action. Really quality people have fled.

Management turned the other way and allowed the abuse by coworkers and the misuse of power and abuse by managers to continue.

Honing in on who these people are and sweeping them up in the layoffs is the only way the department will survive. Management needs to step back and seriously look at who the perpetrators are and not just whether they should remain because they can perform a job.

The culture they created is hostile and abusive. It’s been done maliciously and quietly. And all teams have been affected.

The smart and good ones have been minimized. And are afraid to speak up.

Think management, think.

3 month pause in hiring is code word for layoffs in 3 months. CEO did not mention layoffs. Why? Omitted on purpose, that’s why.

Layoffs are coming. It’s a reality. Those who are “lifers” - see ya. You cost us too much with our fat pensions. Seeing lots of new, younger hires in your department? Not a coincidence- they are your replacements. That’s you…20 years ago.

Also what’s with delay of hiring open positions for 3 months. I mean the position is already open since a year and other employees are getting slogged. We are already short staffed.

Yeah, but we're raising the ROE target.

Sorry. We have to take that out of your compensation.
