Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Lifeline !

It seems like Intel needs a lifeline right now. With such a high cash burn rate with all the investment going in factories and people, with revenue collapsing, with recession looming putting further down pressure on the revenue, with employee bonus gone, with employee morale down due to paycuts, stock price down so much that no more acquisitions possible. Surviving next 2-3 quarters is going to be so tough.

Need Biden to do some magic or intel needs to sell a few buildings or AMD needs to hit a big hiccup or geo politics need to get dicy.

Outside of such events, its going to be painful.

I wont be surprised if they sell more MBLY stock to fund the business OR we get a lifeline with Europe govt funding.

Biden 'magic' = appointing Hunter to Intel's BOD.

Biden wants gave Pat the "Chips Act". He wants some 'quid' for that 'quo'.

Timing couldn't be worse... Pat gets his tax credits and a month later congress passes Inflation Reduction Act slapping a min corp. tax of 15% on him... negating the credit.

Meanwhile the US is now paying $1T of interest on the debt (more then the military spending and more then Medicare... think about that... those are huge programs and the debt is now a bigger problem)...

So the US is in no position to give Intel any more handouts. One top of that, politicians are grifters but they are not complete id--ts. Now that Intel is laying people off and struggling so badly, no politician wants to give Intel another nickel.

No, I'm afraid Intel is either going to live or die by on it's own. Either it will get it's sh-t together and fix the strategy (hint, IFS isn't it) and start executing and cutting costs by 20,000 - 30,000 heads.

Pat prays every night for CCP to invade, bo-b or embargo Taiwan, that is Intel’s only hope.

All the western governments subsidies ain’t going to rescue Intel

"10% for the big guy". I highly doubt that's the kind of 'magic' you want.

@jpm
If EU wants leading edge that can be done at scale, Intel is way better option than ST.

Fabs are millstones that nobody can afford, not even governments.

If EU has money, why would they put into Intel and not ST? EU makes money by fining Intel and other US corporations.
