Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Super Bowl

Hope all the Executives and their spouses enjoyed the luxurious private suite at the super bowl and the week long party you enjoyed. I couldn't enjoy the game because I was working on my resume since you laid me off. I would have been more impressed if you had donated your private box maybe to kids without the opportunities given to all of you. But charity isn't your thing anymore since you just announced you were not going to be making many charitable contributions in the future. I have been told your little super bowl adventure probably cost over 15 million between the private box, the travel, the limos, the hotels and all the extras. That money could have saved lots of jobs. Could have funded all kinds of charitable causes. But I am sure it was worth it. At least your priorities are clear.

Another employee of the year candidate. No wonder the company is off shoring these miscreants.

Private jets, suites at the Super Bowl, hotel for execs and their families doesn’t feel like we are managing expenses properly when we lost billions last year, BILLIONS. You tried to cover it up by having an employee function at the hub only adding to the expenses. Next time make sure you all don’t post on Instagram and Facebook bragging about the suite, game and high society events. Zero transparency and zero trust.

@1dee-lol you are”supposedly, gainfully employed elsewhere which is dubious at best and your idea of “keeping up with current events is coming to this site? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

The point of the post is the company priorities via actions, which is the polar opposite of what the company projects via words/text

@1quj: No, I just keep up with current events and have empathy for some of those still toughing it out there. Now run to your Public Affairs leader and get your cookie!

@lja: Excellent post. Executive's Super Bowl party is tone deaf given recent events at the Farm. I hope the Board has pointed questions about their soiree at the next meeting, but since Tipsord is Chair that's doubtful.

The best way to express your displeasure with the Farm is still to withdraw your business from them and find employment elsewhere, as I did. Now I'm with a company that pays me what I'm worth and treats me like an adult. If enough talented people leave maybe they will start to care.

And you this how? What zero limits on executive class? If you are referring to pay that is set by the board after comparisons to industry. Examples or we can just assume you are making shirt up.

MT has always been like this. He has zero spending limits on the executive class, while at the same time looking to save every dime possible on the common employee. SF went from a place where ten's of thousands had excellent life long careers, to a place where executives get ten's of millions in bonus and perks, and everyone else is treated an easily replaceable cog.

The suite was fantastic! I would expound on the luxurious accomodations but you people would not be able to relate. It was almost as lavish as the parties I attended in Davos last month!

I do not read the OP as a request or "a sense of entitlement" The point is that choices on how $ are spent within any business provides a great deal of information about the business. If spending millions of dollars for a week of partying is the choice - so be it. But in light of how the company is performing and right after showing 500 people the door.....idk....seems a little tone deaf.

OP, the average human lives on under $10/day.

I hope everyday that you spend more than $10, you think of all those less fortunate than you.

Perhaps you SHOULD work on your resume instead of thinking about those who are better off than you, or someone who bought a house for $20k 50 years ago, or any of the miriad of other things people these days feel they "deserve"
