Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

No high hopes

Even if Intel trims all the fat now, I think it will take a long time for this company to recover, if that's even possible anymore. Why do some think that everything will be better or that some kind of miracle will happen after Intel gets rid of a large number of employees?

At least it will be a step in the right direction. Unlike job preservation mode which Intel is in.

2 years seem to be a long time for now ... Every day is feeling miserable.

Now you know why they pay Pat so much, lol.

If he doesn't get rid of the bloat, there will be no chance. Unnecessary personnel create busy work and cause infighting. That was OK when Intel had money to pay for all that. But it's no longer the case. If all the DEI hires are quiet, nice folks who don't show up and do nothing, then they are just a "liberal" tax. But in reality, they have to make their presence felt, and demand time from YOU. lol.

Would everything be OK afterwards? Nobody knows. But focus and improved morale always help. It may start to innovate again.

Pace of change is much faster than we tend to think. Intel will be competitive in about 2 years; albeit it will be quite a different company than now.
