To absolutely no one's surprise, more shenanigans with retiree benefits.

I am not defending IBM - as I truly believe that push to Medicare Advantage plans is yet another sc--w job.

But as a re-deployed and thus very active external job seeker I have progressively discovered how incredibly good the insurance is for active employees. Now I have faults with it - particularly with significant family health issues - but still tops by far of any company I've interviewed with.

Think:
Multiple plans (like 4 or 5) so even 2 choices for us high-deductible people; Many don't have a high deductible plan;

HSA many don't have HSA just FSA

NOT UHC. UHC === Ugh (also Kaiser, ....)

STD paid 100% (!) vs 60-70% . Think knee replacement. Or just sports injury shoulder or ACL repair.

Not a fan of CVS but the IBM plan still is very good for partner's odd meds.

Indeed for most candidate job changes outside IBM I've calculated I need to add $6-$10 K to "IBM's salary" as extra expense from any other company.

YMMV but IBM's insurance and STD for active employees shines.

Ineed I'm contemplating staying on "Access Only" (all I get as a newish potential retireee) until 65.

If you have an FHA and you are a ex IBM now Kyndryl employee and not yet 65 Fidelity doesn't give you anyway to view your FHA balance any longer. It's almost like they are hoping you forget about it. When you call Fidelity they say your FHA is still there you just can't view it! Never heard of a financial organization hiding your balances from you! Fidelity phone # 1-800-835-5095 if you want to check your invisible FHA.
