Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Layoff is a certainty

Managers have been asked to submit names of people who should be laid off. This is based on if you are doing "high value" work if you "performed well," or as we all know, is the most important criterion - if you are liked enough. At USAA, all things matter less than if you are liked enough. Pets can do no wrong, so given such, they will always be given high ratings to show they are amazing performers and the best piece of the pie to work on.

When is the layoff? Likely in Q1 or at the beginning of Q2.

If you desire to leave through a layoff, you should openly tell your manager so they can put you on the list and spare someone else who might not be ready to leave. This way, it's a win-win for you and that other person. They are putting people on a list right now to layoff. It's ECIO doing layoffs now, but it will spread to other departments and LOBs since those other LOBs are doing poorly. P&C has lost so much $$ that there is no way they won't have cuts. The ECIO dept is a very cr---y org to work in, but then again, you already know the entire USAA is a cr---y place to be now.
