Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Uncertain whether to stay in the industry

Despite the claims of some here that everything is much better after one leaves Allstate, I am quite skeptical. Somehow it seems to me that it has become difficult to work in this industry in general and that working for the competitors is not much better. Just my thoughts.

Although I am now completely burnt out and dissatisfied, I used to love working here and in this industry. That's why I'm now in a big dilemma whether to try to find something outside of insurance or is it enough to just leave Allstate for a peace of mind?

Progressive is not bad at all, plus a yearly bonus.

The biggest difference is you will have more time to work your own files.

Allstate is unique in that you spend most the day answering inquiry calls and working the files of the quiet quitters and the incapables.

It's too much work for the pay. I'm also trying to get out of insurance completely. I value my mental health and sanity.

I finally got out of my own head and got my resume done. Took the step to apply in a different industry. I want out of insurance and banking which is what I’ve done most of my career. I can’t do this anymore.

Most insurance jobs are awful now. A few companies are better. Progressive is way better if you are handling bodily injury or commercial claims. Smaller insurers might be okay.
