Apparently, they are planning to get folks back onsite (at least in RA4).
Why this sudden need for in person meetings? If this was truly a data driven decision, they would look at the track record of execution until 2019 and then take the delta of the slope to what we have accomplished since 2019 till now.
In 2019, we were on the nth revision of 14 nm(14nm++++++?) and struggling to yield 10 nm in any meaningful quantities.
Since 2019, we have successfully TDed and ramped 4 nodes upto production. All of which has been accomplished remotely (for the most part except for the vendor FSEs and techs in the fab).
So you want to regress back to an older way of doing things (when we weren't executing with the proper cadence) instead of trying to figure out how to keep the current track growing by meaningfully collaborating in an increasingly digital workspace?
Typical backwards thinking Intel management.
Or is this another move by an insidious Machiavellian management who want to steer the company towards an anti-GPTW model that will increase attrition by creating a hellscape that no one wants to belong to, thereby saving INTC CPM money in the long run?
This is going to backfire as usual. The ones who will leave are the ones who have options outside and competent enough to keep this place running. If all the competent people leave, you will be left with a desperate low skilled workforce who have no other options but clinging onto this company like a parasite. Good luck with your stupid decisions.
