HAMR works can hit ADC target no problems. Issue is reliability fail rate currently 0.5% for. 100TB written but they want us to get it down to 0.0056% in next 6 months
HAMR does work, when it can take over for PMR is only known by a small # of people at Seagate. As for cheap 100tb SSD’s I will believe it when I see it. Lots BS of fluff out there for pumping up stock prices concerning huge ssd’s at low low prices. Oversell and under- deliver, this is the way.
It may work but it will cost to much to put out there.. SSD prices still dropping & will drop again 40 to 50 % coming into the summer.. I can't see hamr completing against SSD in the future when there will be 100tb SSD on the market...
Yes, it works
