Thread regarding USAA layoffs

IT in the cross hairs

They laid off entire teams. Mine included. Said our positions were unnecessary. We all had almost 20+ years or more of experience. We are being replaced by off shore contractors.

Isn't it ironic that employees that come from offshore and now being replaced by offshore themselves.

The BRICS nations are the emerging new superpower in the grand scheme of global economics. I hope that USAA wakes up and think American first.

Amala and HCL family sounds like conflict of interest. I speculate that she's there in India to visit her family and at the same time, to renegotiate lower rates with HCL which is acceptablbe since we have been using HCL for a long time now. And yep, we've terminated a bunch of HCL contracts recently.

IT has always been at risk of being replaced with offshore. Sadly this isn’t just a USAA issue.

Offshore skills are erratic and will lead to lower quality with enough time.

Availability/ capacity teams are not necessary? Someone is smoking weeds!
Any other teams completely eliminated.
