Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

People are tired and overworked

I don’t think they are going to start hiring for open positions like earlier. When the work is getting done with same resources why fill in open positions. Saving the $$$ and more work for existing resources as always

Does anyone else share the same opinion considering that employees are exhausted from doing double and triple workloads?

The best are the "shared services" departments that push their work off onto the very business lines paying for their services. And guess what? The business lines do the work with no push back whatsoever.

My team keeps shrinking while assuming more work from other teams.

If you know anything and care, you are exploited. Be d-mb and care less so you are expected to do the minimum and hey, will likely get promoted. Or, be smart and go elsewhere.

They are firing people, further reducing the size of teams. They are also using more contingent workers, teams in India, and consultants.

Agree. Currently working 12+ hrs to complete a badly planned project. Need to visit doctor for backache and eye check up soon.

Agree. Also, MyPath is an avenue to get EEs to do other work that they can't or won't fill now.
