Intel grounds employee air shuttle to save costs

Any idea how much will be saved with this move? It'll be a huge pain to drive to PDX during rush hours to fly commercial.

Think of other perks that employees of normal businesses ordinarily pay for .
The possibilities are endless

Haha, now you have to fly commercial and mingle with us unwashed peasant masses! (Why do you even need to travel to other sites? I mean, I thought you could do everything remotely from home. You guys and gals sure do start shrieking the moment someone mentions returning to the office . . . )

it was a relic of the distant past when people needed to meet to talk about something. No use of that anymore.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I was a frequent user of the shuttle between Az and OR throughout covid.

Sometimes it is just faster to sacrifice a day then to waste 2 getting something done.

Why would employees think they need to travel between sites when they can't be bothered to come into work at their local office?

This should have been cut ages ago, very few reasons to need to be some place physically, proven true through the Covid years. How many other companies at Intel revenue level operate a private air shuttle???

No better place to take a meeting on the phone than in traffic anyways :)

This just proves Rogoway is not all knowing, despite what some think. This was announced quite a while ago.
