Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

How much longer?

How much longer can at&t survive? With a debt load of $135B, interest rates continuing to rise, it seems highly unlikely at&t will be able to exist into the future. It seems like Stankey intentionally destroyed at&t, how else could anyone explain it. I could understand one failed acquisition, but three? It doesn't appear to bother the BOD that at&t is on a downward spiral as they sit back with their buttered popcorn and watch. Stankey needs to go away and give a much better CEO a chance to turn at&t around.

No problem. Declare bankruptcy and reorganize. Stinky and crew get golden parachutes.

DEBT is the American way! Most middle class people carry a load of debt that takes them years to pay down or off entirely! ATT is no different and will survive this once the company is restructured to reduce operational costs. Essentially, they're eliminating the unnecessary expenses they can live without and putting themselves on a budget! Then, T can focus on paying off their debt load. It will take time, but I'm sure they will get it done!

T is dying a slow death. Stankey and the BOD will milk this cow for all it's worth then let the vultures come in and buy it up. There is no competent leadership in the top ranks.
I have never seen a more inept bunch of clowns trying to run a public company that here at AT&T. Before anyone says all companies are facing trouble, think back on the last 5 ~ 10 years at AT&T. It was bad then and the economy was in much better shape than now.
AT&T simply has horrible leadership. Can you think of a successful company that carries $135 billion in debt, has a great culture, great career advancement, great benefits, etc.? If you can please list it, because I certainly can't.

Company needs to grow a set of ballls and klll the dividend. Yes , the stock will drop like a rock but then they could pay the debt off quickly. But they won’t ; apparently appeasing Wall Street and shareholders is the only thing that matters. Even at the expense of its own survival.

The debt is a wildcard. Last I recall, it is medium to long term debt, with interest rates from years ago. Meanwhile, the government may not get the inflation genie into the bottle, in which case, a lot of AT&T simply gets inflated away.

But they will be in trouble if they have to refinance much. Not sure that they have to.

This is the 135 Billion question. The elephant in the room is large. Nobody seems to see it. This why I will leave as soon as I reach MR75. AT&T has a non trivial amount of debt, as is it is THE MOST INBEBTED company in the history of US capitalism.
