Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

IT is ruining the company in the name of "security"

IT is pushing so hard for "security" they are ruining peoples abilities to get work done efficiently. Basically forcing labs to conform to IT standards that don't suit lab work. Hugh amounts of restrictions, lies and misinformation. All so they can monitor and watch everything you do. Being able to work without every little thing being recorded, slowly slipping away. This is causing people to leave, they don't want to work under these conditions. They don't have do. Seagate will suffer with all the talent lost.

Where would a person find an IT professional at Seagate? We only have 2 at NRM and one is a contractor. At least those are the only ones I know of that do any actual work.

They are monitoring you badge in too so they can eventually target people working from home against official policy. It's all manifesting huge mistrust of employees in general. You are all viewed as suspects guilty of all kinds of woke crimes too by the elites.

IT is not very capable. The security team is average at best.

@gpp+ Some people come here to vent about whatever is causing stress at the moment. While the macro economic conditions may be the overwhelming cause of our current irritations, a person can be justifiably confused/vexed with Management reactions. All that being said name calling makes me sad. Let’s try to be nice to each other.

There important parts of my job that I've just stopped doing. IT has made it not worth the effort, and I refuse to participate in their process of "justifying" what I do.

If product schedules slip, oh well. Maybe IT should have thought of that before messing with every PC in the company.

You're giving them entirely too much credit. They are too busy creating the next phishing bait.
