Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

So LONG JEFF !!!

Macys finally woke up to that toad wrecking ball Jeff and hes being kicked to the curb finally ! I started with the company under Terry Lundgren and the company was way better than it was now.. When Jeff took over the whole place turned into a cut throat backstabbing gossiping shithole ! Customer would say to me all the time what happened to Macys? this is not Macys anymore.. Yep because of the toad Jeff.. Hopefully you will get the new CEO to clean up the clowns especially the no talent clowns in the district teams and "small store tragedy lol" so Jeff Plans on Retiring? ya know why? he already ravaged the company of 10s of millions in stock scams and dirty money to be set for life and is jumping off the sinking ship to Protect his "Good name" someone please kick this guy real good in the a-s on the way out !

Looking forward to Jeff leaving and hoping that Tony will spend much less time focusing on social issues. The company reorganized three times under Jeff's leadership, reducing headcount and resources each time, always under the guise of North Star and then Polaris strategy. So many tenured and talented leaders left the company under his leadership and we replaced them with so much less talented and committed.

When Terry was the CEO, we never invested so much in outside speakers to have mandatory calls with leadership about diversity, bias, and chats about social issues like BLM, pronouns, and discussions about how minority and younger leadership is what the company needs for the future (instead of focusing on performance and talent regardless of age or ethnicity). I would write more, but I have to go get ready for tomorrow's ERG/CRG chat, followed by our diversity champion call, and work on our strategy to ensure that all director and above candidates in my store are diverse in order to meet the goal that is our annual review.

Sometimes a CEO leaves a company months before a massive layoff or store closure, they do this so the new CEO can say they inherited a mess and they have no other options, and the old CEO does not get stuck with the label as someone who closed stores and lays people off. A new CEO at a troubled company is not always a good thing.

I'd like him to leave now!!! Another Christmas with this mo--n at the helm will ki-l this company. Bloomingdales is such a niche market. Alot of high end merchandise. How he'll adjust buying for our stores will be interesting. My store could use better vendors. The Karen Scott's and Charter Club cr-p needs to go or be cut back. So does all this charity and social cr-p. This is a department store. We are here to sell merchandise to customers and make a profit for stockholders not to cram social causes down their throats. People at least in my area have had enough of the constant asking fir donations. If id--t Jeffrey didn't notice we are in a recession where people are barely making ends meet. Goodbye Jeffrey and enjoy spending all your blood sucking bonus money !!

Jeff was a parasite sucking the life out of Macys and letting tenure people get kicked to the door while hiring young kids who could care less. he is the talent buster and was a wrecking ball to all that had a true sales talent.. no commission? No hours? no advancement? long time employee being looked over cause some kid filled out a application a few hours ago ! yep that's good ole parasite Jeff ! He ran his stock scam and got his billionaire buddies to do a pump and dump scam for years.
He ran every store into the ground and alot of stores are gone because of this. he also let higher up AP clowns to do whatever they wanted and they did.. Just like pulling a blood sucking tick off you there will be a mark for a while.. so long parasite !

A change in guard always signifies a pivot in business. Good or bad? Only time will tell. When Terry was replaced by Jeff, the company pivoted from omnichannel everything and more stores, to online everything and less stores. The fact that they went internal with picking Tony is somewhat telling. To be honest, I would've been more reassured if they went with an outside candidate, so at least we had a chance in getting fresh ideas and perspective. However, in picking Tony, I think they are signaling that the pivot/evolution from Jeff's online growth and store reduction priorities will shift to Tony's ability to do more with less stores and have the fewer stores be "higher end" in both experience and product curation (at least that will be his goal). I think Tony will also expand Macy's online market to become more like Amazon (you're already seeing this today with all the third party product being sold in-app/online like Walmart). Risky model and questionable tactic for our hardworking stores folks. Stores are already being asked to do too much without proper resources; "converting" them to a new model would be an unfair ask without first stabilizing our existing model. Tony's got his hands full in 2024.

Maybe the new CEO from Bloomies will help turn things around. Good luck in retirement JG you no doubt have nothing to worry about financially unlike a large majority of your employees. Should be interesting to see where the company is headed I will be watching from afar Former MTech let go in 2019 and this company really has not been the same since 2016. ISM are you kidding LOL. Anyone that touts it and says it works is on some serious dr-gs.

SWEET!!! That "Northstar Strategy" really went south!!! Can we also get rid of ISM too!!!??? Stores just have not been the same in years! And if stores are preaching "ISM WORKS!" they are lying!!!

Finally! Goodbye to bad rubbish. This man did not have a clue on how to run this company. He Rode the successes his predecessors laid before him and when that momentum ran out and this company needed proper leadership, he utterly failed to provide it. He brought nothing to the table and instead of fostering those who brought in new ideas and solutions to it's problems, he saw them as a threat to his authority and expelled them and their ideas.
Instead cutting into the very bones which made this institution what it was, which where it's employees and valued customers. By having loyal employees take the brunt of cuts during company down turns, therefore affecting the customer experience.
Here's hoping the new CEO can bring proper responsible Leadership and new insight which can lead Macy's back to it's former glory.
