Thread regarding Belk layoffs

The “I haven’t heard anything like that” line

“I haven’t heard anything like that”

did your RVP tell you to say this if questioned about the company finances.

In other words it's not just RVP's that are out for themselves it is all of belk management. All the while Sycamore and belk executives keep up their stupid facade that everything is ok. They think that all of us are stupid and we are because we work there. But it is a paycheck for now. I am not jumping into something else that is owned by private equity or run like belk.

Lets face it, to be in management for belk one has to be a liar. Belk fosters the worst kind of culture. No matter how short staffed the store might be the associates are on their own . When they lose associates in one area the one person left is expected to do everything. And the worse part about it is the HR person that fills in for an hour or two feels the need to brag about things and tell you things like you know nothing. And the other manager that helps stands around talking when people are waiting and when they take somebody they feel the need to trumpet out "I got a credit". The ones that browbeat the people are superstars even though the customers don't like it. All in the quest to make more money for the top executives. Belk is the perfect storm of toxic. And I know I can leave. I actually have an interview today.

RVPs are in it for themselves, not even the company.
Extraordinarily duplicitous in words and deeds.
Surprisingly many are old hangovers from the world of Belk when it was, though that time period was rife with divisional politics and self serving behaviour on the part of regionals.
No single bigger waste of payroll than RVPs.
