Thread regarding Follett layoffs

We are just a “variable expense”

I am so uninspired to want to continue working here un alone proud to be working for this group! It also shows, that this leadership group doesn't care and are not going to do anything to inspire anyone! Did you notice they are hiring a director of WFM scheduling. In the description of responsibilities - You will be responsible for FHE number 1 variable expense. Hard to be inspired by a group that sees you just as a variable expense!

Follett hasn't been anything but a bottom dollar driven company for at least 8-9 years before the Jefferson River buyout. If you've been there long enough to remember being treated better, then you've also had enough to time to get the heck out.

Respect yourself and your talents and find somewhere else to work that doesn't make you as miserable.

This isn't me sticking up for the company, this I me asking you to stick up and value yourself. If the past 10 years of history haven't been your wake up call, let this week be your wake up call. I promise, you'll be much happier.

The sooner everyone realizes that’s what we are no matter what company you work for, the better off we will all be. Even if you work for a mom and pop store, they eventually sell or close with no regard for you, but their own profit and wellbeing. We’re all just number, an expense line. All. The. Way. Up.

None of us are special and we can all be replaced. At any job. For any company. The only thing that changes is service level expectations based on the quality of your replacement. It happens everywhere.
