Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

This is becoming sad

Allstate can no longer retain talent. Another colleague who did a great job has left.

How does the leadership plan for this company to function successfully in the future, considering that losing valued employees also means losing valuable institutional knowledge?

The train long left the station in terms of customer quality and satisfaction and even being legally compliant in the industry. If the premium paying customer only knew the internal workings of this company they would take their business else where.

Moving almost all frontline customer and agency facing service to vendors who pay foreigners in Mexico and South Africa $6 an hour is all you need to know about their "culture" and "strategy".

I overpay claims routinely to cause Allstate to pay much more than necessary on claims and nobody ever notices.

We've always aspired to have top-tier performance, yet benchmark to average or median compensation levels. Leaders are encouraged to exercise discretion to differentiate performance and compensation, but most dread the PDS and compensation confrontations, thus little meaningful distinction in pay for performance. In more recent years, pay has been adjusted at industry levels while overall performance has been at or below comparable industry levels across various metrics depending upon AOR.

Talent requires more money. The company doesn’t care about paying for quality any longer. The current business model is use the brand to attract customers, which it does, then service our contract w the lowest paid employees bc customers will deal with it or leave. Oh, and also, then they can blame delays, poor service on the employee vs it being a ‘strategy.’
Delay, don’t pay is and has Alway been mantra here. Do yourself a favor and pay as much as you can possibly get away with on every claim and your life will be cake. Til they replace you with someone that can barely read and save them a couple bucks!

leadership only cares about the near future and how it looks on the balance sheet. If your job gets harder, that is of no consequence to them. It takes a while for the damaging things they're doing today to come to light. By then, it will be different leadership.
