Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Connect weeks for thee, not for me

Unofficially, VPs and above hired during the pandemic are being classified as remote and not required to participate in connect weeks or really ever see their reports in person.

Everybody else? Better get back to the office to get on Zoom, you don't want to make your boss in Seattle have to wake up early to discuss putting you on a PIP with HR

recruiters are telling perspective employees that they are required to be in the office for connect weeks...5 days in a single week every month. Those are the requirements.

Not sure how this turned political.
Back to topic at hand.
Anyone else get constantly reminded by their chapter lead that they need to come in all 5 days during dynamic working?
Just trying to determine if this is just badgering or if their are any real consequences behind it.

ask your VP who their President is, and what they're supposed to do if their president is unable to perform their job or incapacitated in some way. Get real. who in the he-l company names more than 1 person "VP"? Just imagine that.... Ludicrous. ONLY 1 person per company or nation for that matter "needs" to be VP. and that's that

this the way it is in life. Remember that thing call covid where you were locked in your house, but your leaders were going to hair salons, restaurants, trips....etc. Power is power, remember that. Fidelity is no exception.

Double standard, always existed and always will.
Typical corporate America.
Won’t change unless the workers group together instead of infighting.

Funny, because my boss here at Fidelity actually does live in Seattle.

Yea, I don't really enjoy connect weeks but I feel they've been very flexible about it. For instance, i didn't have to attend when I was moving to a new state and that saved me a lot of money with flying and hotel costs.

Also, thank the LORT its not being extended to 2 weeks.

Fidelity could have easily pulled a Amazon and said everyone back NOW but they haven't. Let's all be as cynical as we can be, but at the same time give Fidelity some credit here.
