Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel knowingly lied to me in interview

They lied about what my role would involve. My duties are incredibly tedious and it's becoming clear that what I was told in the interview is not going to materialize. My colleagues said they do it all the time because they have such a hard time hiring people. I relocated from another state. I feel like I've been scammed.

@gon+1lMcqZAP So tired of you “engineers” thinking nobody else works at this company. Open your eyes and see what it takes to deliver products from development to market.

Could not agree more. I had an internal transfer last year. From the job descriptions, I thought it matches my skill set very well, and the manager talked with me about how promising their project is. But after I joined, none of them is true! I should take the external offer then, now I am stuck. :(

This is the way.

If you’re a b-m, you’ll learn to like it. If not, you’ll get fed up and leave

Learn to script, Autohotkey is your friend, most tedium can be automated, even PPT creation :)

" My duties are incredibly tedious "...Nuff said. You must be the janitor or that rando dishwasher in the canteen not an engineer

This is very common at Intel. Unfortunately the business processes are so convoluted, tedious, bureaucratic. Even if you jump through these hoops and successfully deliver, they will steal credit and scapegoat you.

Then there are these tons of roles where people do nothing and get paid for bossing around

'knowingly lied' is when the gov't tells you the vaccine will prevent you from getting Covid and Dr Fauci says he never funded gain of function research...

Whiney biotch. Stop complaining and move on. If not do the work you are paid to do.

Boohoo, you actually sound like the perfect intel employee as you complain enough for the job. Get your resume together and move on, or stay put in mediocrity.

Did they lie knowing your role would be a tedious rut? Or is it the more common case where they thought they would have the bigger role for you but were themselves ignorant of Intel's terribly bad situation?

In my experience, few people are fundamentally evil... and many more times 10x are just not very bright... don't ascribe evil when ineptitude fits the situation just as well.

If Intel lied to me like that the first thing I’d do is complain about it on the layoff.com

Good job!!!
