Thread regarding Follett layoffs

More support in the field? HOW?

How is firing 100+ people giving more support to the field? How is firing almost all GMs and CMs more support for the field? What the he-l kind of logic is this? Change a title take a pay cut but you are still doing the work of 4 people. How is that more support in the field when you fired everybody that knows how to run the stores?

@sec+1lMZJ8tg Sounds all good in theory, but now they're just putting the Campus Leaders into a position to be working every day their store is open with little to no in-store support. If there's only one keyholder in the store, how do you expect these individuals not to burn out?

The organization chart might make sense on paper, but you're completely missing the human element here.

It's pretty clear that they're looking to break contracts with schools they no longer want to do business with. The pay cuts and demotions are absolutely reinforcing that message.

I am so sorry many have been let go, but I do see this as a positive move for Follett. Many of you are angry and understandably so. However the ship is not sinking.

The Campus Leader will have less responsibilities. There is a dedicated Course Materials person, AR, GM, etc. For years we have been complained that HO places too many responsibilities on the Store Managers. If you came to Follett from regular retail it seemed crazy that a store manager was responsible for so many duties. I am so sorry many have been let go, but I do see this as a positive move for Follett. Many of you are angry and understandably so. However the ship is not sinking.

My old Regional Manager was more support for me yesterday and after catching up with my peers, several of them too, than anyone in my current “leadership” hierarchy was. They were able to help me see both sides of this and not put a positive spin on it necessarily but help me see where I can gain an advantage here, still be successful, grow in the new vision, and there’s literally nothing in it for them as far as I can tell. Thank you for still being a mentor!

They still want me to do the same stressful, thankless job for 33% less? Nope. I’m going to take my severance, stand back and watch it burn

Present your case to unemployment. You may be penalized but you can still collect. Check with your state unemployment office for best information.

Looks like they are folding the company. Can't operate like this. James River takes huge tax loss. Yeah. We're richer.

pkq+1lMZJ8tg: this is the worst part.. change your title, take a pay cut but if you don't agree with it, bye! no severance offer and if you leave, no unemployment.

Preach. I legitimately won’t be able to stay with this 25% pay cut. It’s monstrous of them to give pay cuts in order to stop people from collecting.
