layout numbers all laid out. Exact people not settled. That takes 2 days when close to approval.
Hock has already started his appetizer…

I have heard from a contact in the TV crew that it is 100% certain that Hock intends to eat the turtles via live Zoom at some point in his first week symbolizing his complete takeover of the VMW brand.
Wash, rinse, repeat. Krause could give 2 sh--s what anyone thinks of his methods as long as he can hoard
If the deal goes through, layoffs are inevitable. I strongly doubt that at this point anyone would know who and how many ppl would be impacted. However, if the Citrix takeover by PE can foreshadow anything, it’ll be a disaster. Tom Krause who is the CEO of Citrix and an ex Broadcom exec is running the show totally based on a Broadcom playbook. Layoffs, budget cuts, return to office, awful company culture, unhappy customers and staff is about to hit the fan. A buddy of mine works there and can’t wait to get out.
I know for a fact there is major layoff plans being laid out.
Some offices and Business units targeted more than others.
It might change if the acquisition doesn’t go through. However, if it does go through, we can expect the company size to shrink by more than 50%.
Some of the businesses will be sold off and some retained by BC.
This exercise is trickling down to the senior director level for some units and they are adding content to the grapevine by leaking it to their teams. Not ethical but it’s causing stress as it’s too soon to prepare a layoff list. I guess it’s only matter of few more months of wait.
In the UK an acquirer can request a company go through consultation/redundancy before the acquisition completes under TUPE. So not entirely true that it won’t happen before. But VMware cannot unilaterally go through layoffs without BCs input.
Stop lying. BC cannot discuss any layoffs before the closing date. They will probably get rid of 50% or 100% but nobody knows.
will be sold for scrabs ...
How many scrabs?
I've heard from a friend of a friend of a director of a senior of a director that there will be 100% layoffs and VMware will be sold for scrabs ...
I'd feel so bad for MD is this deal does not go through. Imagine being told that your going to get all this $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and waiting and waiting and waiting only for it to fail and vmw stock price goes down the cr----r and someone else comes along and offers $$$ instead. That would be heart breaking.
This assumes the deal goes through. There is an awful lot of rumblings happening out there now which indicate that for example- the UK has some major concerns about the acquisition as to do other countries and its various orgs. My gut is that its not going to pan out.
There’s no denying cuts will be massive. But it will be done in phases. It won’t be 45% right off the bat except for the obvious roles like Legal, IT and Finance. Knowing your end date and given a severance package is not so bad. If you time your job search based on your end date, then you get to keep that nice severance and hopefully find a better job than the one you have now.
Between Finance, HR, OCTO, Legal, PSO and EUC, there is about 11,700 employees. These numbers alone would account for about a 30% reduction.
I speak from experience having been acquired by Broadcom a while back.
- Headcount reductions are set before the acquisition closes
- Sr Dir are typically involved in the decision making for who is on the list. I was a Sr Dir and directly involved in creating the list.
- VMWares headcount is WAY to high for their revenue so the cuts will be very drastic.
I mean nobody would be shocked if this is true. I doubt it is completely accurate but we already know HR is probably getting axed which is about 400ish people, Zane's group is probably going as well or most of them which is another 7k according to source. Like when you think about the "redundancies" that Hock mentioned would be getting let go we have a lot of folks.
I heard that they will make me fight my colleagues to keep my job, I can’t wait to kick some a-s.
This sounds like a lie was planted to out a mole. This person told 10 people 10 different things and waited to see who would post it publicly.
absolutely possible. Same happended to Symantec.
I heard there is a list based on cu-ts spreading rumours with no factual basis.
Troll
Complete and utter BS.
There are no lists, and none of this discussion would sink down to a Sr Dir level. He's trying to make himself sound more important than he really is.
Well I heard from a DIRECTOR that it will be 100% of people outside development and 75% of all development. Across the board. All of the management hierarchy will be retained to manage their bonuses.
All of management will be retained, and they will be given handsome bonuses.
I also heard that they will be serving turtle soup on the day of the acquisition.
No lie.
