Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Layoffs at DXC

I'm concerned about the frequency of layoffs at DXC for those who have worked here for under a year. I recently left my previous job to come here, so I'd like to make sure my new position is secure. Can somebody here please provide me with more information about the company's layoff policy

That is wrong about your salary and how long you have been there. They have been laying people off on very low salaries who have been there for decades, in many cases it is all about if you are in your current managers little clique.

Their own rules for scoring staff for redundancies are simply not followed. You have been warned, please take heed of what we are all telling you and go and find a job somewhere else.

Nothing is secure anywhere at the moment. Most of the big SIs are making redundancies,

I am assuming you must have got a hefty raise compared to your previous job, as DXC is desparate for people to join them as on date. They aren't gettig very many to come on board, because the word seems to have gone around in the market as to how bad they are.
If you have come with a hefty raise, rest assured that is where you will be, for the rest of your tenure in the company. As others have already mentioned, there is no such thing called a raise in DXC.
And no bonus either... if bonus was a part of your package, rest assured it will not be paid on one pretext or another.
You will be working with some very angry and frustrated clients, who are absolutely hacked off with DXC. If you happen to be on a client site, expect to take all the heat that they have built up for DXC.
Your line manager will be a joke, who will know next to nothing about what you do, but would do your annual "appraisal", which will be a farce as it will lead to nothing. The only difference between the top and the bottom rating is that those with a top rating get to keep their job... the ones at the bottom will be shown the door...as simple as that.
If you want to know more, just browse through the historical threads on this site, if you haven't done so already.
You would be up to speed in no time.

Best way to look at it is to think you have a made a big mistake coming to a bad company. Like everyone says you will get no raises, the big chiefs take all the pay, so you become poorer every year until you struggle to pay your bills.

You have chance to get out now before the ship sinks, start job searching before you get settled in.

Every single year, sometimes multiple times a year for the last 14-15 years.

Get used to it. Expect no pay rise! This is how it is.

It's quite good policy all around they look after the people according to Mike Salvino.

You won't get any pay raises for 10 years, all your raises will be handed over to the Mike fund, they will cut all your benefits, you will do the work of 2 people.

Then one day they will put you in a wfr pool or you will leave yourself.

That's the playbook, and it has a long proven track record of how it operates.

So you may just want to leave now if that doesn't suit you.

Last I heard they provide 6 weeks of severance pay. Also, as far as I know, they use an outside company to determine who to lay off. It's more about how much you are paid vs how long you have been with the company. Also, DXC layoff's whenever it suits them so layoff's are frequent - especially quarterly. They always lay off in small groups so they do not have to comply with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) You won't know you are being laid off ahead of time. Instead, your manager contacts you out of the blue usually on a Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, it's like a bad game of Survivor here at DXC.
