Getting a new job

What transferable skills can technicians mention on their resume?

I would say the hardest working people at intel are the technicians themselves, who bring insurmountable support. There is no real career path for a lot of these folks, especially the “ROC technician” role.

Are there any key words that can help intel technicians find a new home?

Why is ROC technician a nightmare of a job? Is it just tedium, shift after shift, with no variety of tasks?

A good ROC tech can add “pestering engineers to dispo wafers” onto their resume.

You could also look at health care-related manufacturing, such as the pharmaceutical and medical devices industries. My impression is that those transferable skills would be in demand there as well.

You could also look at other semiconductor places. Tons of them out there, and they would be glad to know you clearly can be trained to work on the equipment, and be careful with the expensive and fragile parts.

Could just also join the hoards going into TSMC, my friends who transferred over say they do work you harder, but they pay so much more. 30% more work, for 50% more pay. Your choice if that's worth it.

You need to highlight your ability to troubleshoot, to problem solve when the solution isn't obvious and deviating from normal expectations helped. This is what everyone is looking for.

Demonstrate pride in your work and your ability to handle high stress environments and people of diverse backgrounds and capabilities.

These universal skills can convert you to a job in any other industry and all industries are hungry for people right now, if you are willing to move you can have multiple offers in weeks.
