Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

“We found out flexibility really sells”

At insurance giant Allstate, president, chair, and CEO Tom Wilson has identified a method for both attracting new talent and ensuring existing talent continues feeling valued in such a market: prioritizing purpose and treating every worker like they’re an Allstate customer.

He and his senior team at Allstate carried out that mindset shift during the pandemic, Wilson recalled during an exclusive interview with Fortune Connect.

“We say, we’re selling you a job. That job comes with some professional work, some personal growth, some money, and an inclusive environment,” Wilson explained. “And you pay us for that with your expertise, your engagement, your loyalty, your commitment, and the extra 10% of the work.”……………..
“We found out flexibility really sells and, you know, nobody wants to drive to an office to do a Zoom call, and they don’t have to,” Wilson said. “And commuting is way overrated.”

The employee retention numbers speak for themselves.

Tom Wilson always bulls@@ts in interviews. Like the time that he said “American business needs to do a better job of taking care of their workers” and then 6 months later began the process of mass layoffs in the most excruciating way. Tom Wilson is a liar.
I would love to see the press push him on what he does at Allstate but I am sure that to get the interview, there is stipulations as to what can be asked.

What a bunch of baloney from an out of touch soon to be dumped CEO!

Ask Tom about the historically elevated levels of turnover in the claim department. While the pandemic period required alternative work approaches, the push to primarily remote work arrangements since (to save on real estate long term and to be perceived as a groundbreaking CEO) has failed. Commuting is overrated for sure, but claim employees learn from each other through the onboarding process, and later via collaboration. Instead, we now have 15,000 isolated, divided, lonely, and stressed employees. Their only lifeline is a Teams or Zoom connection with a peer or leader. Hybrid options will be very limited given the real estate strategy in play.

Typical out of touch statements from a rich no care attitude CEO that is close to retirement and could care less about the grunts at the bottom. The toxic environment he and his minions created is beyond repair. Sitting in the ivory towers for decades has polluted their minds into an alternate reality. When does the National ad campaign start to inform the American public about the move to an overseas operation. More needs to be divulged to the people in this country so decisions can be made whether to stay or go elsewhere for their insurance needs.

If it wasn't for a provided link I would swear this was a troll thread. Shows how inept and out of touch Tommy Boy is and how he likely was about 6 martinis in when uttering that tripe. This company and everyone running it is hot garbage.

Allstate corporate needs to do a lot more sniveling and groveling to keep the US talent they’ve managed to retain this far. Take that break, take that lunch, leave early when needed and definitely after 8 hours. Allstate owes the US employees here after the 2020 fiasco a huge bonus too. Keep on keeping that Union uprising at bay Wilson!
