Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Are we looking at reduced severance?

There are many ways to cut costs and while layoffs are one of them, they cost money. I’m worried that Pat and his entourage will realize that they are paying too much (even if it's less than most other tech companies) to get rid of people and decide to reduce severance.

Rumor has it, not only will severance soon be gone but people will have to pay back when let go.

The package has been very consistent throughout the decades and Intel does seem to be anchored on some sense of 'fairness' and 'copy exactly'... for these reasons, it is very unlikely the package would be reduced.

That’s a weird thing to worry about. Basically employees are not allowed to sue the company for any damages if they accept a severance, this is one of the drivers to have a severance, plus avoiding negative publicity. It’s very doubtful severance packages will go away or made much smaller.

This is pretty common sense.
