Pay is terrible at Pearson, and that's by design. Anybody who has been on salary.com in the last several years knows this when comparing to other similar positions in your metro area.
Want a shock? If you're on the tech side, look at what similar local jobs pay on Indeed, if a range is provided. Yes, it's way more that what you're getting. If you're a contractor, you can do vastly better at any local company or even local government. All of those high paying jobs you'll see are not bait and switch.
You've got to ask yourself, "Why do I continue to work at Pearson?" Is it because you're getting 4 weeks of vacation now? Is that it? Because you're a subject matter expert? Because you get to work from home? Because everybody you work with is saying "We're just lucky to have a job..." Why do people continue to make excuses for those 1% raises? Oh, you don't want to get laid off? Well, it's gonna happen. They do not care about you. Nobody is safe. If you've been there a lot time, the severance package is quite generous.
The few jobs Pearson has posted recently on Indeed are hilariously low in hourly pay or salary. You can tell that HR do absolutely zero benchmarking in this area, except to make sure they're the lowest paying employer in the area. That says it all.
