Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

OpenText layoffs have been happening for some time

OpenText has been doing random/sneaky layoff since Fall 2022. Some people here and some people there... trying to stay under the media radar and avoid layoff reporting. From staff HR to sales reps, people have been let go from across the country with the company giving only two-weeks severance pay even for 10 year employees.

A sh---y company! Laying off people who gave their everything for the companys success throughout many years were let go with no severance pay, kicked out the door in a minute with no help or support what so ever. For everyone who survived this time, your time will come and youll get the same, better go on your own term than continue for this sh---y

That sucks senior account executive.
I got 3+3
But it should me more as manager and experienced worker over 50.

Everyone tells me seek a laywer, and OT had planned you will likley get a laywer to send a letter amd ask for more. Do this as a minimum
Ontario Canada here.
I know poeple that were let go atborhwr places that got way more. And when they swnt a letter it went up a little more.

2 weeks ago they cut 60 (approx) HR staff many were senior and Directors.
Some actions are slowed as in the UK / EU the works councils have to be engaged. That has slowed down the process. Even this the CEO wants a big bang. His diver is that people will not talk about it as long and many specific situations will be burried and over shadowed. I am sure he us not happy. As he like to be in control and in the driver seat. He has been really annoyed with the power shift that happened recently.
He is almost ready to say 100% back in the office or be termed for breach of policy, but he has pushback from his teams, that it woukd cripple them.

I don't see OpenText here: https://edd.ca.gov/en/Jobs_and_Training/Layoff_Services_WARN yet, they did not file, it would appear in the spreadsheet for current,

A company with a covered establishment that has 75 employees or more is required to file a WARN notice if the company lays off 50 or more employees during any 30-day period.

There is no minimum in US. Severance to my knowledge is based on time served.

Thought the Warn Act required an 8-week minimum.
