My advice is to learn how to spell and maybe downsize and stop buying what you can’t afford. Go from 2 luxury cars to 1. Go from 4K sft to 2k.

Prepare for the interviews… For software people, re-learn data structures and algorithms and do Leetcode day and night. For Hardware people, go back to the circuit theory and be ready to know your stuff. Getting the interview is honestly the easiest part, but passing the technical interviews and not blowing them is what will help you make more money - or not…

Cost of leaving? or Cost of living? Make sure someone spell-checks your resume'.

I know several Intel people taking a second remote job while working from home to supplement income. It's the best of both worlds. And they never miss our 4pm tennis games either. Great lifestyle.

I recommend improving your own personal finance management skills and knowledge. Seek out positions that are with better organizations and do not rule out public sector jobs that can be far more interesting such as Department of Commerce or Department of State, or even State level government jobs. If you decide to target private sector companies, interview for a better job (higher pay and higher level position versus what you have now). Research the company in detail and practice interviewing with someone that you can trust. GLTA.

Get a resume.
Submit it.
Interview.
Accept.

Hiw did you get your current job.
Rinse and repeat.

Well there's always space under the bridge or on footpath. Don't be surprised if you find your co worker there
