Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Pallet quantity.

Can anyone clarify how many pallets are suppose to be dropped/worked per A.M. shift and P.M. shift? Getting conflicting answers. TIA.

We drop about 200-225 a night. Some of that is to get the am shift going. Am drops more if needed. I’m pretty sure most clubs have more in clothes than they do on the floor. Some Einstein in Bentonville thinks clothes is more important than anything. As a consumer when buying clothes I’d rather not have to dig thru stacks of clothes. Most boxes have the same amount of sizes in each box and colors. The goal was set at 150 for our mkt. as someone stays about a third of those pallets gets slotted back up but thst just helps us meet our goals we just redrop them the next night.

We only have 1 a.m. driver. Depending on the day, anywhere from 2 to 4 merchandisers. We have more people that work clothing for 8 hours than the rest of the floor and they only do clothing. Sometimes after we open there are 3 people for the entire floor. It's exhausting.

How many people do you have on AM team? Does it include softline?

Waste of time. 1/3 of what they drop they put back up or take to the dock because they don’t have time to stock it. Lift driver could have stocked a few more pallets if they were not busy putting stuff up that wasn’t even touched. Plus the go by what the scan g-n says to drop leavings multiple one layers of the same item in the steel. Also to get the number of pallets dropped they drop stuff they don’t need causing them to hand stack half a pallet when they could have waited a day or two and just hand stack one layer. Thank how much time that would save. Oh well it’s the company’s money.

Our expectation is 100 pallets in the morning and 100 pallets on 2nd.

5 per hour !!!!! ????? they coached people at 6407 for not doing 8 per hour !!! Thats no lie !!! I was litterally running to do price signs and was told I was not fast enough if I could not put 100 signs in an hour on top of doing forklift drops at the same time !!! I finally had to leave because I could not physically do what they were demanding. They even told the freezer people they had to do 8 pallets per hour !!

When I was a CM. It was based the amount of associates working. An associate is to work 5 an hour. So you will have to do some multiplication to figure out.
