Wayne wants everyone back in the office. Directors and other leaders are already being pressured or required to come in as an example to everyone else. Coming into the office is seen as a sign of “engagement” and of “leadership” these days. If you don’t come in, there is an increased risk of lower performance ratings, raises, bonus, lack of promotions, and most likely even more of a chance of being let go in the promised upcoming rounds of layoffs.

Forget USAA. Remote is the way to go. They will soon be bare bones and sell part of their business.
Forced attrition is in play for remote workers outside of the office footprint. All job postings will be hybrid, zero opportunity for career advancement if you’re remote.

Very likely. The general rule for driving distance is 60 miles one way/1hr drive in normal conditions (I think some areas actually have 100 mile range). I know people who were hired remote, are around 50 miles from an office, and have been changed to hybrid.

FCO Town Hall pretty much just said remote will be expected in office 1 week a month. So clearly remote is all but done for most.
USAA executives starting quiet firing vs having any integrity (but they like to pretend to have military values).
