Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Something I don't like about Intel

  1. CEO talks about religion very often.
  2. CEO does jobs for the government (Chips Act)
  3. HR head manages DCAI.
  4. The graphic head does movie as a side job.

Maybe you can add more.

Unwillingness to hire the best (and get rid of the worst) regardless of race ethnicity or gender? That is a problem.

Sclerotic middle management that slows things down? That is a problem.

Some people being religious? Not so much.

Go find another job elsewhere.

Yep love dealing with HR in another country as I try to hire someone in US. Useless is an understatement. Had to find the last two (last year of course no hiring now) on my own, have them apply, then tell HR to put them in my portal so I could put them through the interview process. Worse than useless, a road block.

For me, the forced diversity is hard to fathom. About 12 months ago I advertised for 2 x lowish grade technical positions and HR sent me six applicants for each. All 12 CVs were female. Most of them were not a good fit for the position at all. It went back and forth for a while until I told them to forget about it.
