With all of the complaining on this board… why do people stick around?
If it’s that bad, you can always walk out the door and find another job.
Complaining here won’t do anything to change the situation. You can only control what you do.

The reasons are:
- inertia (people are reluctant to change)
- no competitive jobs nearby (people can get better jobs but don’t want to move)
- family hooked on Intel $$$
- unwillingness or lack of knowledge on how and where to find alternative jobs
- unwarranted optimism that things are bad but will get better soon
This is simply an HR post as they would rather you quit than they pay out a package.

Folks can’t pass the phone screening much less the actual technical interviews and therefore they are stuck?
Job market is difficult right now, but give it a few months...
I'm satisfied with my job, but that doesn't mean I can't complain about it.

Most people who post here were layed off 10+ years ago. It's true. The bitter people aren't recent.

Think of it like a pressure relief valve, able to vent about items and then continue to take the abuse.
I'll get downvoted to oblivion for saying it but Intel pay and benefits, even with the austerity is pretty sweet. Hopefully we start executing again and make it a great place. A lot of Intel employees are loyal to a fault and will go down with the ship.
Because they've managed to find a good gig at Intel that allows them to do little at work and waste time here complaining about H1B, diversity, etc. Nobody would really hire them, as they would even fail the phone screening, so they are stuck.
